We are delighted to be working with a family run business with their head office based in Brussels, Belgium. They offer supply chain solutions to a global audience. Including air, sea and land provisions – they are proud to be considered a leading provider in their field.

Due to internal development and an increase in business they are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Import/Export Operator (Air & Sea) to join their team & hit the ground running.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Preparation, submission and coordination of import/export documentation

* Processing of bookings

* Liaising daily with transport departments both internal & external

* Preparing and handling cargo related documentation including packing lists, manifests, bills of lading

* Liaising with customers, addressing and resolving issues as they occur

* Ensuring accurate numerical processes are carried out- confirming quantities & sizes

* Application of tariffs – ability to read & understand tariffs

* Working directly with the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in the commercial side of the business

QUALIFICATIONS

* At least GCSE (‘O’ level) standard including minimum grade C in Mathematics and English Language

REQUIRED SKILLS

* Strong and concise communication skills, both written and verbal including professional telephone manner

* Strong grammatical and numerical skills

* Accuracy and attention to detail is essential

* Fully competent with IT including Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Power point / Outlook)

* Knowledge of industry programs is desirable

* Ability to accurately & efficiently transpose information into internal Transport Management system

EXPERIENCE

* A minimum of 2 years, previous experience in an import / customs role – can hit the ground running

* Previous experience of shipping, transport & logistics environment

* A good geographical knowledge would be a distinct advantage

* Commercial/sales experience is essential
