Are you ready for a new challenge in an ever changing and developing sector?  We are delighted to be working with an established client based in Stallingboro who are seeking to add an experienced Import/Export Assistant to their team.

Our client is one of the region’s leading shipping and freight forwarding Companies, specialising in groupage and full-load movements to Scandinavia, mainland Europe and deep-sea / airfreight shipments worldwide. Their professional, experienced team take full control of customer’s cargo, from initial booking through to final delivery.


  • Preparation, submission and coordination of import, export & customs documentation
  • Liaising with transport departments both internal & external
  • Customs clearance entries
  • Preparing and handling cargo related documentation including packing lists, manifests, bills of lading
  • Liaising with customers, addressing and resolving issues as they occur
  • Build & maintain relationship with agents/clients
  • Responding to telephone and e-mail enquires in a timely manner


  • At least GCSE (‘O’ level) standard including minimum grade C in Mathematics and English Language


  • Strong and concise communication skills, both written and verbal including professional telephone manner
  • Strong grammatical and numerical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • Fully competent with IT including Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Power Point / Outlook)
  • Ability to accurately & efficiently transpose information into internal Transport Management system


  • A minimum of 2 years, previous experience in an import / customs role – can hit the ground running
  • Previous experience of shipping, transport & logistics environment
  • A good geographical knowledge would be a distinct advantage

  • Effective personal time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast moving environment
